Major League Baseball has announced the 2024 All-Star Futures Game rosters and the Future Skills Showcase event.
The Futures Game is a seven-inning exhibition featuring one prospect from each team, scheduled for Saturday, July 13. This year, there will also be a three-round skills competition testing players’ bat control and power.
Some notable names on the American League roster are Noah Schultz, Samuel Basallo, Henry Ford, Colson Montgomery, Marcelo Mayer, Max Clark, and Spencer Jones. On the National League side are Chase Dollander, Tink Hence, Rhett Lowder, Ethan Salas, Termarr Johnson, Dylan Crews and Druw Jones.
Fans might think this lineup looks promising for future MLB stars.

Below are ten interesting prospects to watch in the Futures Game:
1. Samuel Basallo (C/1B – Orioles)
Basallo has proven himself at Double-A with a .794 OPS as a 19-year-old. Though he’s primarily a catcher now, his bat might make him more valuable elsewhere in the future.
Samuel Basallo off the wall!

2. Owen Caissie (OF – Cubs)
Caissie is known for his raw power but struggles with consistency at Triple-A due to high strikeout rates. Still, he could put on an impressive power display in this game.
3. Deyvison De Los Santos (3B – Diamondbacks)
De Los Santos hits incredibly hard but has issues with swing discipline. He could hit a massive home run that gets everyone talking.
4. Harry Ford (C – Mariners)
Ford defies expectations for prep catchers by excelling both defensively and offensively at Double-A. He might reach MLB next summer if he continues this trajectory.
5. Tink Hence (RHP – Cardinals)
Hence is redefining what it means to be a starting pitcher with fewer innings per start but excellent overall performance at Double-A.
Tink Hence was absolutely UNREAL tonight. The #Cardinals number one prospect goes a career-long seven innings while striking out a career-high 10 batters.

6. Chase Dollander (RHP – Rockies)
Dollander fell to No. 9 in last year’s draft due to inconsistency but shows promise as a middle-of-the-rotation starter for Colorado.
7. Brooks Lee (3B/SS – Twins)
Lee is close to making his MLB debut thanks to his polished hitting skills and recent strong performance in Triple-A.
8. Ethan Salas (C – Padres)
Salas reached Double-A as a teenager but needs more time before making it to MLB due to recent struggles at High-A.
9. Noah Schultz (LHP – White Sox)
Schultz’s combination of size and skill makes him one of baseball’s top pitching prospects despite limited innings so far.

The No. 2 @whitesox prospect's ERA is at 1.93 since joining the Double-A @BhamBarons, with an 0.81 WHIP.

10. Chandler Simpson (OF – Rays)
Simpson’s speed and contact skills have carried him through Double-A despite having almost no power; he’s an intriguing player to watch.
So what do you think about these players? Who are you most excited about?
