The Chicago Cubs have been winning a lot lately.
Their manager, Craig Counsell, thinks the team’s good luck is thanks to a Taylor Swift candle he lights before games.
He said, “I was gifted a Taylor Swift candle, and we’ve been lighting that before games in my office — clubhouse manager Danny Miller [and I]. We’ve been on a nice little run here, so we’re going to credit Taylor Swift.”
Swift Magic and Cubs’ Winning Streak:
In their last 11 games, the Cubs have won eight times. They even beat the Pittsburgh Pirates with scores of 27-13 in two recent matches. Tuesday’s game ended 9-5 for Chicago, pushing their record to 67-66. Now they’re just 5.5 games away from a wild card spot in the National League.
Fans might think it’s funny how something as simple as a candle can make such a big difference.
Taylor Swift has taken over the world this past year. Maybe her magic works not just on stage but also in baseball! The Cubs will probably keep using the candle until their luck changes.
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Taylor Swift COULD be helping the @Cubs right now 🤣👀
