Stanton Likely to Return for Phillies Series

The Yankees are hoping Giancarlo Stanton will be back on Monday.

Manager Aaron Boone mentioned to the Associated Press before Friday’s game against the Red Sox that Stanton might return for their series in Philadelphia. The Yankees have a busy schedule ahead with the trade deadline approaching on Tuesday. “He’ll probably be back — we’re shooting for Monday in Philly, but we’ll see also how these next couple of days go, too,” Boone said. “I know he’s doing a heavy day back there today, so let’s get through that and see where we’re at.”

Stanton has been out since June 22 due to a hamstring strain .

Before his injury, Stanton had a batting average of .246 with 18 home runs and 45 RBIs over 69 games. During his absence, Aaron Judge has taken over as DH, allowing Trent Grisham more time in the outfield. Unfortunately, injuries are nothing new for Stanton; this marks his sixth injury since 2021. Since Opening Day 2019, he has only played in 419 games.

Yankees’ Recent Struggles:

The Yankees need Stanton’s powerful bat back in action soon. They have lost three consecutive games and five out of their last six. When Stanton last played, they led the AL East by 1.5 games but now trail behind the Orioles by two games.

Fans might feel anxious about this news because it could make or break their season.

Stanton’s return could provide just the spark New York needs to turn things around.

What do you think? Will Stanton’s comeback help the Yankees regain their lead?
