Royals Defeat Guardians to Tie for First Place

The AL Central is now wide open. On Tuesday night, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Guardians for the third time in two days (KC 6, CLE 1), tying both teams at a 75-58 record with 29 games left to play. The Royals swept Monday’s doubleheader and have won 10 of their last 13 games, while the Guardians have lost eight of their last eleven.

The home runs are still there but nothing else is clicking for them. Their batting average and on-base percentage dropped because they aren’t getting singles or doubles anymore. The Royals outscored them 19-8 in this series so far; it’s hard to win when you score just eight runs in three games.
