Rangers Jankowski Robs Home Run to Beat White Sox

Sometimes, things just don’t go your way.

The Chicago White Sox faced another tough loss, falling 4-3 to the Texas Rangers. The game seemed within reach when Andrew Vaughn sent a deep ball toward left field, looking like it might be a walk-off homer.

But then Travis Jankowski made an incredible catch that left everyone stunned . You can see this amazing play here:

Jankowski had just entered the game as a defensive sub for Wyatt Langford. Manager Bruce Bochy’s move proved perfect timing.

“The hang time was perfect,” Jankowski said about his catch. “If it was a foot farther, [it’s] probably out of my reach… Just everything lined up perfect.”

White Sox’s Struggles Continue:

This season has been rough for the White Sox. With this loss, they dropped both games of Wednesday’s doubleheader and now stand at 31-103 for the season. Fans might feel it’s been one disappointment after another.

Jankowski hasn’t matched last year’s batting performance but remains a top-notch defender with three Outs Above Average according to Statcast.

Fans are likely thinking that this season can’t get much worse for the White Sox.

The team is on track to lose 125 games, nearing the record set by the 1962 New York Mets who lost 120 games in one season. Only two teams have ever lost more than 115 games in MLB history.

What do you think about this tough season for the White Sox?
