Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper shared that he’s been dealing with wrist and elbow irritation.
He mentioned that the wrist issue has been troubling him since May and seems to be getting worse, though he hopes it’s improving now. “I don’t want to make excuses,” Harper said. “I’ve just got to get through it.”
Despite these issues, Harper, 31, has impressive stats this season with a .278 batting average and 26 home runs. His performance has contributed significantly to the team.
Harper’s Recent Performance:
In July, Harper hit a slump, managing only six home runs after starting the year strong with 20 homers. This made July his worst month ever in terms of OPS. Although August showed some improvement, his recent games have seen a .233/.311/.411 slash line over 42 matches. The Phillies’ record during these games is 20-22.
Fans might wonder if his injuries are affecting his power on the field . However, Harper downplayed their impact by saying: “Sometimes you’ve got to play through crap.”
The Phillies are continuing their important series against the Braves on Friday night after winning the first game on Thursday and extending their lead in the National League East by six games.
