Pablo Sandoval is now pitching for the Staten Island FerryHawks in the Atlantic League.
At 38 years old, he’s taken on a new role beyond his usual third baseman duties. This past Saturday, he started as a pitcher against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Surprisingly, he did really well, throwing 5 1/3 innings without giving up any runs. He allowed only four hits, struck out four batters, and walked one. Oh, and he also hit 1 for 3 as the team’s No. 3 hitter.
The FerryHawks shared a tweet celebrating Sandoval’s performance:
Couldn’t write the story any better! There’s no one like the Panda 🐼
