One day after getting hit in the head by a pitch, Heston Kjerstad was placed on the seven-day concussion list.
The Orioles called up Kyle Stowers from Triple-A for Saturday’s game against the Yankees.
In Friday’s game, Clay Holmes’ 96.8-mph pitch struck Kjerstad in the head, causing him to look dizzy and unsteady .

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said there was no intent behind the pitch that hit Kjerstad.

Kjerstad has been doing well this season with a .314 batting average and three home runs in 21 games. He was expected to be great this year as he was one of the top prospects. Stowers, on the other hand, has had an OPS+ of 81 over three seasons.
