Adam Jones is coming home to Baltimore. The beloved former Orioles outfielder is joining the team’s front office as a special adviser to GM Mike Elias, while also taking on a role as community ambassador.
“Baltimore has always meant so much to me,” Jones said. “This unique role will allow me to continue giving back to the community I love.”
The five-time All-Star will help Elias with various aspects of baseball operations, bringing his wealth of on-field experience to the front office. He’ll get started right away, joining spring training as a guest coach.
For Jones, it’s a chance to learn the business side of baseball from one of the game’s sharpest minds.
“Having the opportunity to be around the game that I love, while also learning the operations side from one of the best general managers is truly an honor,” he said.
Jones was the face of Orioles baseball for over a decade, putting up incredible numbers in Baltimore. He hit .277 with 282 home runs and 945 RBIs across 14 major league seasons, with most of those coming in an Orioles uniform.
His name is all over the Orioles’ record books. He ranks fifth in team history in home runs, RBIs, runs scored, and extra-base hits.
But it wasn’t just his bat that made him special. Jones was a defensive wizard in center field, winning four Gold Gloves during his prime years.
While he briefly played for the Mariners (2006-07) and Diamondbacks (2019), Jones will always be remembered as an Oriole. He officially retired with Baltimore in 2023.
Now he’s back where he belongs, helping shape the future of the franchise that he helped define for a generation of fans.
