Jazz Chisholm Jr. Leaves Yankees Game with Elbow Injury

Monday night was tough for the Yankees, losing badly to the White Sox 12-2.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. left the game in the seventh inning with an elbow injury after sliding into home plate in the fifth. He managed to stay in for two more innings before being replaced by a pinch-hitter.

Cameras caught Chisholm flexing his arm in the dugout after his slide under Korey Lee’s tag. Even though he played defense for a bit longer, he wasn’t tested at third base during that time.

Chisholm’s Impact and Injury

Since joining from Miami Marlins, Chisholm has been amazing, hitting seven home runs in just 13 games with New York. Before getting hurt on Monday, he went 2 for 3 and overall is batting .257/.328/.445 with 20 homers and 26 stolen bases this season.

Fans might worry about how this injury will affect their team’s performance moving forward.

Playing third base is new for him; previously, he’s been seen as a center fielder or middle infielder. If Chisholm can’t play for a while, New York will likely return to using Oswaldo Cabrera and DJ LeMahieu at third base.

Monday’s defeat brought their record to 70-50. They now trail behind the Orioles by half a game in AL East standings.
