Injuries at Brewers Park Escalator

Eleven people got hurt after an escalator broke down at American Family Field.

After the Cubs vs. Brewers game, an escalator sped up suddenly, causing injuries to eleven fans. “After the conclusion of today’s game, an escalator at American Family Field moving fans from the Terrace to Loge Level malfunctioned, resulting in an increased downward speed. Eleven people were injured in the incident,” said the Brewers in a statement given to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Five were treated on-site while six others went to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Our onsite physician and EMS were on the scene immediately, and we are appreciative of their quick response,” added the Brewers’ statement .

Stadium History:

American Family Field, known as Miller Park until 2020, opened in 2001. Last December, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers signed a bill giving over $500 million for stadium upgrades through 2050.

Fans might think this news is quite alarming and wonder about safety measures.

The Cubs and Brewers finish their weekend series on Sunday afternoon before the Brewers head out for a seven-game road trip on the West Coast.
