Mets player Jose Iglesias, known for his song “OMG,” has caught the attention of big music stars this year. Pitbull and Silvestre Dangond will join him on a remix of the track, set to drop on October 11. Iglesias, who performs under the name Candelita, shared this exciting news recently.
Since its release in late June, “OMG” has been a hit in Latino pop circles. Iglesias started using it as his walk-up song after being called up from Triple-A Syracuse Mets. This catchy tune soon became a home run anthem as the Mets heated up and secured an NL Wild Card spot.
Iglesias even performed “OMG” at this year’s MLB Home Run Derby . The song climbed to No. 1 on iTunes Latin Pop charts by June 29 and topped Billboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart by July 20.
