NEW YORK — This World Series looked promising but might end sooner than expected with the Dodgers leading 3-0 against the Yankees.
As we look forward to Game 4, what can we anticipate from a betting angle?
Game 4 Preview: Dodgers vs. Yankees at 8:08 p.m. ET
The Dodgers have been using bullpen games with mixed results, sometimes dominating and other times struggling. Meanwhile, the Yankees’ offense seems to be in a slump, except for an unusual rally in Game 2. Aaron Judge’s lack of performance is really hurting them.
Gil had a strong rookie season with a 3.50 ERA over more than 150 innings, but he appears to be running on empty now. His last two regular-season starts were rough, and he allowed two runs in four innings during his ALCS start while walking three batters. Walks are a problem for him since he led the league in that category .
Fans might think this series is already decided.
The play: Dodgers +124
The Yankees’ offense is completely silent right now. Even though the Dodgers didn’t hit much in Game 3, they still won it 4-2. When teams lead 3-0 in MLB playoff series, they tend to finish things off quickly; historically, they’ve gone 31-9 in Game 4s of best-of-seven series. The odds here are too tempting to ignore—this series seems done.
The play: Shohei Ohtani under 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (+115)
The Dodgers won’t rely on Ohtani for scoring due to his shoulder injury limiting him from getting hits. While he might walk and score once, it’s unlikely he’ll do it twice.
