The Dodgers have put Tyler Glasnow on the injured list due to elbow tendinitis.
This is his second time being sidelined this summer, having missed nearly three weeks in July because of back issues. Glasnow, who joined from the Rays, has a 3.49 ERA and has struck out more than four times as many batters as he’s walked in 22 starts. He’s thrown 134 innings this season, surpassing his previous high of 120 innings set last year.
To fill in for Glasnow, Bobby Miller will start Saturday’s game against the Cardinals. Miller hasn’t pitched in the majors since early July and had a rough go with an 8.07 ERA in his first seven games. His minor league stats aren’t much better with a 6.75 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A outings .
Rotation Changes:
Fans might be worried about these changes affecting the team’s performance. The Dodgers also brought up Justin Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City to help out. Wrobleski made his fifth big-league start on Friday, entering with a 4.05 ERA over 20 innings but hadn’t played since late July against the Astros.
The Dodgers were busy at the trade deadline too, picking up Jack Flaherty from Detroit to bolster their rotation further.
As of Friday’s game, the Dodgers hold a slim lead in their division with a record of 71-51, just two games ahead of both the Diamondbacks and Padres. Not long ago on August 5th, they were leading by five games!
