Dodgers Acquire Amed Rosario Again

The Dodgers are bringing back Amed Rosario for infield depth.

Rosario, who played for the Dodgers last season, is returning from the Rays in exchange for Michael Flynn. To make room, they designated Ryan Yarbrough for assignment. This season, Rosario has been versatile on the field and boasts a .307 batting average with two home runs across 76 games.

Tampa Bay has been busy trading players like Jason Adam, Randy Arozarena, Zach Eflin, and Isaac Paredes. It was only a matter of time before Rosario was moved too .

Dodgers’ Current Roster Woes:

The Dodgers are currently missing key players like Max Muncy (oblique strain), Mookie Betts (broken hand), and Miguel Rojas (flexor strain). Freddie Freeman is also away due to a family emergency. Fans might think this trade helps fill some gaps in their lineup.

As we look at the Rays’ side of things, closer Pete Fairbanks and first baseman Yandy Díaz are likely to be traded before Tuesday’s deadline. Tampa Bay seems to be giving up on their postseason hopes despite not being entirely out of contention yet. Flynn has shown promise with a 4.25 ERA and 59 strikeouts over 42 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this year.

Los Angeles is leading the NL West with a 63-44 record as of Monday. They also acquired Tommy Edman and Michael Kopech earlier that day through a three-team trade involving the Cardinals and White Sox.
