The Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers face off in the finale of their three-game series on Sunday Night Baseball at 7:10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
It’s been a series of extremes so far. The Dodgers shut out the Cubs 3-0 on Friday, but Chicago roared back with a crushing 16-0 win on Saturday, scoring 15 runs after the fifth inning.
Tyler Glasnow takes the mound for Los Angeles tonight, while Colin Rea gets the start for Chicago.
The odds heavily favor the Dodgers at -265, with the Cubs as +214 underdogs. The total is set at 8.5 runs, with the Under at +101.
MLB betting expert Angelo Magliocca, who’s up an impressive 123.5 units over the last three MLB seasons, has put together a three-leg parlay for tonight’s game. One of his picks expects the Dodgers’ offense to bounce back after yesterday’s embarrassing shutout.
## Cubs vs. Dodgers SGP (+202 on DraftKings)
### Shohei Ohtani 2+ bases
Ohtani’s looking good at the plate, even if the stats don’t show it yet. He was pulled early from Saturday’s blowout, but still crushed a ground ball at 105 mph and nearly had another hit with a deep fly ball to the right field wall.
The last time Ohtani faced Rea was last August in Milwaukee. He smashed the first pitch with a 105 mph exit velocity (though it ended up as a flyout), and then absolutely crushed a home run into the second deck with a 110 mph exit velocity in his next at-bat.
That same day, the Dodgers hammered Rea for 10 hits, seven earned runs, and four homers in just six innings.
### Tyler Glasnow 2+ walks allowed
Glasnow has struggled with his command this season, already walking eight batters in just seven innings across his first two starts.
Even if he’s focused on fixing those control issues tonight, he’s likely to issue at least a couple of walks if he pitches the projected six innings. The Cubs draw the fourth-most walks against right-handed pitching in the league.
Many Cubs hitters haven’t faced Glasnow before, which might lead them to take more pitches early to see what he’s offering. Just a brief lapse in command could easily result in two walks.
### Dodgers team total Over 3.5 runs
The Dodgers’ offense should bounce back against Rea tonight. With Ohtani hitting the ball hard and Rea allowing 50% hard contact to lefties, there’s a real home run threat there.
Will Smith will likely return to the lineup after Austin Barnes started Saturday. That’s significant because Smith homered against Rea in their last matchup.
With Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman also back in the lineup, the Dodgers have the firepower to put together enough hits and walks to easily score four or more runs.
The depth of this L.A. lineup makes them dangerous even when a few players are slumping, and they’ll be motivated to avoid losing this series after yesterday’s embarrassment.
