The Atlanta Braves have put Reynaldo López on the 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation.
This decision was made after López’s velocity dropped significantly during his one inning against the Washington Nationals. Consequently, Daysbel Hernández has been called up from Triple-A, and Cavan Biggio has joined the active roster while Luke Williams heads back to Triple-A Gwinnett.
López, having a stellar season with a 2.04 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings, earned his first All-Star selection this year. However, he missed some time in August due to forearm issues .
Injuries Plague Braves’ Season:
Injuries are a big problem for Atlanta in 2024. They’re fighting for a playoff spot instead of dominating like last year because key players are out. Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr., both crucial players, are done for the season. Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies are also on the injured list with unclear return dates.
Fans might think this news is really bad for their playoff hopes.
The Braves currently hold a record of 79-66 and sit second in the NL East. They share the third wild-card spot with division rivals New York Mets.
What do you think about all these injuries affecting the team?
