The Oakland A’s had a special night on Friday, celebrating Rickey Henderson with a bobblehead giveaway.
Henderson, who spent 14 seasons with the A’s, made an appearance to catch the ceremonial first pitch thrown by his daughter, Adrianna. She threw a perfect strike to her dad.
Rickey stood behind home plate while Adrianna took center stage. She tossed a high-arcing pitch that landed right in his glove.

Game Night Recap:
Despite the heartwarming moment, the A’s couldn’t beat the Yankees and lost 4-2. Right fielder Lawrence Butler did manage to steal a base in front of Henderson, which was quite fitting given Rickey’s legacy.
Fans might feel nostalgic seeing Henderson back at the Coliseum one last time.
After this season ends, the A’s will leave Oakland for Sacramento. They’ll play there until 2027 while plans for a Las Vegas move are finalized. Some players have criticized owner John Fisher for this decision.
What do you think about the A’s moving away?
