10-Year-Old Dodgers Fan Catches Historic HR Ball

Freddie Freeman smashed a walk-off grand slam, leading the Dodgers to victory against the Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday. The crowd at Dodger Stadium went wild, but no one was more thrilled than a young boy who caught the home run ball.

Zachary, a 10-year-old fan, managed to grab the ball as it zoomed his way during the bottom of the 10th inning. His parents preferred not to share their last name.

“When he hit it, we knew it was outta here, but catching it? No way!” Zachary told NBC News. “It bounced off a seat and rolled right to me.”

Unexpected Surprise:

Zachary’s day had an unexpected twist; his parents had told him they were going to the dentist. Instead, he found himself at Game 1 decked out in Dodgers gear. Fans might think it’s cool how his parents pulled off such a surprise.

“He was crying with happiness,” said Nico, Zachary’s dad. “Tears and smiles all mixed together.”

The moment Zachary snagged that ball, fans around him cheered for his good luck. Now, they’re hoping to get Freddie Freeman’s autograph on that special ball.

The Dodgers are off to an amazing start in this series with a 2-0 lead! Next stop: Yankee Stadium for Game 3 on Monday.
